In the whole of Queensland there is not one place that parents can place their children in emergencies.

 

Single parents are risking their lives rather than go to    hospital in many cases because they have no one to look after the children whilst they receive treatment.

 

In cases where both parents are hospitalized at the same time it often is the same.

 

Often times the ones they can call on are over the other side of the country and it can take time for them to get where they are needed.

 

Having the Short term Respite Care will give them the chance to receive the treatment they need with out the worry of how the children are being cared for.

 

There are many other emergency reasons that parents have to go places and cannot take the children with them.

 

Ronald McDonald has places for the parents to stay whilst children are sick.

 

Grandma’s Place is a place for children to stay in a caring, safe and loving environment whilst the parents are sick.
